If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. Colossians 3:1-2
Today we tackle the next step in this transformation plan. Paul has already given us a big conjunction in “IF”. The “if” is big because it’s really the beginning of transformation and salvation. That if should change everything. Which leads into us no longer seeking the world but actively seeking out the things of Christ. Then finally it brings us a little deeper to “set”.
In my eyes seeking is when you look for something with intentional effort. Like when you loose your keys and you cannot go anywhere with out them you seek them until you find them. Once you find them you are ready to get in the car and go. To me that’s what setting your mind on thing above is all about.
What in your life have you been casually allowing to guide your thoughts or actions?
Are there things that you have written off as no big deal and need to turn away from? Do you need to set a new course?
Setting out minds on things above is all about plotting anew course that apart from Christ and the things of Christ is impossible.
So IF, If Christ has given you new life then your course should show that. While we once sought out the things of the world, found in vs 5-10, we are to change course and\ Seek out the things of God, found in vs 12-17.
Set your new course on Christ and His word.
Praying for you on this journey,
