Hydrate End of Summer Update

hydrateupdateemailHey! It has been a while since I have taken the time, or had the time, to update you in all that is going on in my life and what God is doing in the lives of our students.

Summer came and went with great success.

We had the opportunity to take 8 students to Student Leadership University in Orlando in June. SLU is an organization that helps to give students a head start on their leadership journey. Students learned practical skills and heard from many inspirational and encouraging leaders from the church and business world. I wish i had been able to learn the skills they learned and were exposed to when I was a teen.

We took 39 students and 8 brave adults to camp at Global Youth Ministry in Chatsworth, Ga. It was an amazing week where we saw almost all of our students make some decision for Christ. We did see 10 students come to salvation in Christ and are excited about how God will continue to work in their lives. We are following up with them and will hopefully have a baptism service soon.

On Wednesday August 23 we hosted an area wide “Back2School Bash”. Seven area churches participated and over 300 people were crammed into our youth room. We had students share testimonies, a community band lead worship, and a guest speaker, Billy Young from the Florida Baptist Convention. Billy shared a message on “Who is Christ to you?”. It was a challenging message to students asking them “who was Christ to them?” and “did they know him and represent him at school?”. At the end the invitation was given and 5 students received Christ.

All in all it was an amazing summer. God did some awesome things. I cannot wait to see what God has in store for us this year.

We begin the school year off right with “Students For Christ” at Keystone Heights High School. It will meet on Tuesday after school and will be a time for students to get together on campus and talk about what God is doing.

A special thanks to all out youth workers who helped make this summer a success. Also want to thank parents for trusting us with your students. We will continue to teach them about Jesus and pray that fruit of their love for Him is shown in their lives.

Thanks for your prayers. Keep on praying. To God be the glory.
